Komitas Stepanyan is the head of IT audit division in the Central Bank of Armenia. He has more than 8 years of teaching experience at the Yerevan State University. He is a member of IIA and ISACA and the holder of two international certificates: Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC, issued by ISACA) and Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA, issued by IIA).
He is a board member and head of Training and Certification Committee in IIA Armenia.
Komitas is graduate of Yerevan State University. In 2005, he earned PhD degree. Komitas graduate of a “Public Policy and Public Administration” Certificate Program at Tufts University – The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (USA).
Komitas started his career in US based IT company as a fiber-optics communication engineer-researcher. In 2005, he moved to the Central Bank of Armenia as an information security specialist. After six months, he appointed as a senior administrator of information security responsible for implementation of BS7799/ISO17799 (ISO 27001) in the CB RA. As a result, CB RA is ISO 27001 certified.
In 2007, he promoted as a Head of IT Audit Division. He is one of the key players in CB RA who pushes forward IT Governance as well as CobIT approaches in Central Bank of Armenia.
